How we sell

  • Minimum order: a full truckload within India, or a full container FOB Cochin for export. Part-loads and LCL consolidation are available on some routes.
  • Lead time: 7–10 working days for stock-grade material, 15–20 for made-to-order panels and fabricated crates, from receipt of advance. The date on the proforma invoice governs.
  • Payment: 50% advance with order and the balance before dispatch; custom production on 100% advance. By bank transfer (T/T).
  • Incoterms: Incoterms 2020. FOB Cochin unless the order says otherwise.
  • To get a quotation: send product, grade, thickness, size, quantity and destination port. We do not publish transaction prices; the price tracker is an indicative market reference, not an offer.

Specification and compliance

  • Standards: IS 303 for plywood for general purposes, IS 710 for marine plywood (BWP).
  • Moisture at dispatch: 15% or below for panels and fabricated packing. For sawn timber the target is agreed at order.
  • Wood packaging: heat-treated and marked to ISPM-15 where the destination requires it.
  • Formaldehyde: panels can be supplied against CARB Phase 2 and EPA TSCA Title VI limits, and CE marking arranged for European destinations, where the order specifies it.
  • Certification: held by Cochin Wood Industries or by companies in the Cochin Wood group, depending on the scheme. Certificate numbers, holders and scope are supplied to a customer on request, before quotation.

Timber species

We keep a reference page for each species we work with. The box at the top of each one states the form we actually supply that species in — face or core veneer, packing timber, or sawn timber — and those differ by species. Okoume, for example, is veneer only; irul is sawn timber only.
