Why our panels

A door is judged at the hinge and the edge.

Flat and stable

Seasoned, edge-glued battens resist warp and bow — the door hangs true and the panel stays flat.

Holds the fixing and the finish

A solid core takes screws, hinges and locks without blowing out; the face takes veneer, laminate or PU cleanly.

Container loads, FCA or FOB Cochin

Block board and flush doors exported to joinery firms, furniture clusters and developers abroad.

Block board and flush doors are different products

They share a workshop and are often quoted together, but they solve different problems.

ProductConstructionSpecify it for
Block boardTreated rubberwood battens edge-glued into a core, faced both sidesLong spans that must stay flat — shelving, tabletops, wardrobe shutters, partitions.
Flush doorA framed core faced both sides, made as a finished door blankDoor openings. Sold to a door size and thickness rather than as sheet stock.

Choosing the core

The core decides weight, screw-holding and how the panel behaves over a long span.

CoreWhat it gives you
Treated rubberwood core (block board)Battens of treated rubberwood, edge-glued into a core. Best stiffness-to-weight over a span — the usual choice for shelving and long shutters that must not sag.
Solid / block core (flush door)The core is built under IS 2202 with hardwood lipping on all edges. It holds the hinge, lock and handle, and gives better acoustic separation than a hollow leaf.
Face optionsCommercial face for painting or laminating; veneer face where the door is finished clear.

Questions buyers ask

Block board & flush doors, answered.

What is the difference between block board and plywood?

Block board has a core of solid hardwood battens, which makes it lighter and stiffer over long spans — good for doors, shutters and tabletops. Plywood is cross-laminated veneers, stronger in every direction. For long flat panels, block board resists sag better.

What core do your flush doors use?

A solid / block core with hardwood lipping on all four edges, bonded BWR or BWP, so the door holds hinges and locks and resists moisture.

What finishes are available?

Veneered, pre-laminated, PU-finished and skin doors — standard residential sizes in stock, bespoke sizes to order.

What is the minimum order and how do you ship?

By the container load (FCL), FOB Cochin Port, with documentation ready at dispatch.

What finishes are available on flush doors?

Veneered, pre-laminated, PU-finished and skin doors - standard residential sizes in stock, bespoke sizes to order.

What is the minimum order for block board and flush doors?

By the container load (FCL), FOB Cochin Port, with documentation ready at dispatch.

Will block board sag over a long shelf?

Far less than particle board or MDF at the same thickness, which is exactly why it is specified for long shelving. The battened core carries the span. Tell us the span and load and we will recommend a thickness.

Are your flush doors solid or hollow core?

Solid. Our flush doors are built on a solid / block core, and are quoted against IS 2202 where specified, with hardwood lipping on all four edges, BWR or BWP bonded. A solid core is what holds a hinge, a lock and a handle over years of use — hollow and tubular cores save weight and cost, but only suit genuinely light duty, so we do not make them.

Can doors be supplied pre-laminated or veneered?

Yes — commercial face for site painting, laminate for a finished surface, or veneer where the door is polished clear. Say how it will be finished and we will supply the right face.

What sizes are available?

Standard door sizes and thicknesses, plus made-to-size for openings that are not standard. Send the opening schedule and we will quote against it.
