Is Cochin Wood Industries a manufacturer or a trader?
We are the manufacturer. Your order is made in our factories in Perumbavoor, Kerala; the factory is named on your quote, and you are welcome to visit. Cochin Wood Industries Private Limited is the company that invoices and exports.
What products do you supply?
Our plywood families are commercial plywood (packing grade); semi-hardwood, alternate, full red core and premium / BWR hardwood for interiors and furniture; container flooring with or without groove and chequered anti-skid for flooring; film-faced shuttering for formwork; and marine plywood for wet service. Okoume is a face veneer option, including across the interior range. We also supply block board, flush doors, finger-joint boards, particle board, pallets, boxes, crates, cable drums and sawn timber. What is the difference between IS 710 and IS 303 plywood?
IS 710 covers marine plywood. IS 303:2024 covers general-purpose plywood in MR, BWR and BWP grades. A BWP label alone does not identify marine plywood. Confirm the standard and supporting documents for the board quoted. Full breakdown in our IS 710 vs IS 303 guide.
Do your export pallets, boxes and crates meet ISPM-15?
Yes, for export to any country that enforces it. Plywood itself is exempt from ISPM-15; the solid-wood parts of our pallets, boxes and crates (runners, battens and pallet blocks) are treated and IPPC-marked to ISPM-15 by a DPPQS-registered treatment provider where the destination requires it. The treatment method follows the destination's rules, and a treatment certificate is supplied where the quotation states it. Read: Do plywood boxes need ISPM-15?
Is plywood itself subject to ISPM-15?
Generally no — plywood and other manufactured/processed wood-based panels are exempt from ISPM-15 because the manufacturing process already eliminates pests. Solid-wood components (pallet runners, crate framing) do require treatment. Details in the ISPM-15 guide.
Is Okoume a separate plywood family?
No. Okoume is a light, uniform African hardwood face veneer. It can be specified on any of our interior plywood constructions and on a packing panel where the quoted build allows it. Choose the core, bond and finished thickness for the job, then confirm the face. Compare it with gurjan in our Okoume vs gurjan guide, or see the Okoume face options.
Do you supply container flooring plywood to IICL TB-001?
Our container-flooring choices are 28 mm, approximately 65 kg per 8 × 4 ft sheet, with black film on one side and grooved or ungrooved options. Send the container-model requirements and any required IICL or ISO standard. The quoted construction and supporting test documents must be confirmed before ordering; the product name alone does not establish compliance. What is your minimum order quantity?
We work at bulk and container scale — typically by the 20 ft or 40 ft container load, including six-month repeat schedules. Part-loads within India and LCL consolidation for export are available where the route and quantity allow; the practical minimum for your destination is confirmed on the quotation. Samples are available on request.
Do you ship FOB Cochin? Which ports?
Yes. We quote FOB Cochin by default, loading at our factories or at Vallarpadam ICTT, 40 km from our factories. We export to 28 countries across six continents — the list is on our about page; other Incoterms on request.
What are your lead times?
Stock catalogue items load within 7–10 working days of receipt of your advance; made-to-order panels and fabricated crates within 15–20 working days. The dispatch date is stated on the proforma invoice, and we share pre-shipment photos before dispatch.
Can I get a sample before ordering?
Yes — tell us the grade and spec and we'll arrange a physical sample. For many products a photo and product code are enough for us to quote the same day.
What export documents do you provide?
Commercial invoice and packing list, the bill of lading on dispatch, the ISPM-15 mark on solid-wood packing where applicable, a treatment certificate where the quotation states it, and a phytosanitary certificate where the destination requires one. Tell us your destination's requirements and we'll match them.
How do I get a quote?
