IICL TB-001 Container Flooring Plywood

Cochin Wood Industries · · About 3 min read

Layered plywood floorboard supported by steel cross-members.
Flooring selection includes the panel, support arrangement and fixing details.

Short answer: IICL TB-001 addresses the performance of new, unused structural container-floor panels. It is not a universal catalogue size or surface finish. Use the buyer’s floor specification and the applicable bulletin, then confirm the construction and supporting test documents for the lot quoted.

The current IICL reference

The Institute of International Container Lessors publishes technical guidance for container equipment. Its official dry-van bulletin list identifies TB-001 Revision 4, dated 18 June 2026. Check the applicable edition when preparing an order.

The official TB-001 bulletin covers plywood, bamboo and OSB panels, including construction, dimensions, bonding, performance tests and identification. Final acceptance remains with the buyer. A material name, thickness or “IICL” label alone is not evidence that a particular board meets the required specification.

Cochin Wood’s container-flooring enquiry choices

These are our listed product choices, not a replacement for the bulletin or a claim that every floor design accepts the same board.

ItemConstruction to request
Thickness and weight28 mm; nominally 65 kg per sheet, with batch weight confirmed on the quote
Manufactured sheet8 × 4 ft (2440 × 1220 mm) only
Core and surfaceHardwood core, black film on one side
With grooveOne-side black film with grooving; send the groove profile and floor drawing
Without grooveOne-side black film without grooving; ungrooved does not mean uncoated

What to send before ordering

Send the container owner’s or repairer’s drawing, required standard, groove choice, quantity and destination. Ask for confirmation of bond grade, finished tolerance, required tests and documents for the exact construction being quoted. Do not assume a panel will fit an existing floor without checking its dimensions and support arrangement.

For both new-build and repair enquiries, agree the floor specification before ordering. See our container flooring plywood page for current product choices and quotation terms.

FAQ

What is IICL TB-001?

A performance bulletin for new, unused structural container-floor panels. Use the applicable edition and the buyer’s acceptance requirements when specifying an order.

What container flooring can I request from Cochin Wood?

28 mm hardwood-core panels, nominally 65 kg, in 8 × 4 ft (2440 × 1220 mm) sheets only. Both grooved and ungrooved choices have black film on one side. The written quote confirms the final construction and availability.

Does a black film face confirm the floor standard?

No. The surface description does not establish the board’s structural performance. Confirm the required construction, tests and documents for the quoted lot.

Is container flooring the same as shuttering plywood?

No. Shuttering is formwork for concrete. Container flooring has a separate construction and groove choice, which must be checked against the floor or repair design.

Specify the floor before ordering.

Send the floor drawing, required standard, groove choice and quantity for a written quotation.
