BWR Hardwood Plywood
IS 303 BWR hardwood plywood for joinery that has to last.
BWR is the grade most Indian interiors actually need. Kitchen carcasses, wardrobe backs, shopfit panels, restaurant furniture, partition cores — the work that lives in humid air and copes with the occasional splash but is not, strictly, going under water. IS 303:1989 BWR is the right standard for that band, and a hardwood core is what separates a sheet that survives ten years from one that warps in three. We mill IS 303 BWR Grade I, hardwood cross-bands and cores, phenol-formaldehyde glue line, balanced odd-ply construction, ≤ 15% moisture at dispatch. Joinery shops care more about how a sheet routes and screws than what the marketing says — that's the spec we hold, lot after lot, against the same BoQ.

Why this board
BWR sits between MR and marine — and we build it to the line.
Fortified glue line
A melamine-fortified bond that shrugs off steam, splashes and humidity where ordinary MR ply would swell at the edges.
Gurjan / keruing hardwood
Dense hardwood face over a gap-free core — flat, screw-holding, and ready for laminate, veneer or paint.
The grade you ordered
BWR bonded to IS 303 — order after order, not relabelled down to MR between shipments. Container loads, FOB Cochin.
Questions buyers ask
BWR plywood, answered.
What is BWR plywood?
BWR (boiling-water-resistant) is an IS 303 commercial grade with a melamine-fortified glue line that resists steam, humidity and occasional wetting — the right board for kitchens and bathrooms.
What is the difference between BWR and MR plywood?
BWR uses a fortified glue line for humid areas; MR is urea-formaldehyde bonded for dry interiors and furniture. Same standard (IS 303), different water resistance. See MR commercial plywood →
Is BWR the same as marine plywood?
No. BWR resists humidity and occasional wetting; marine BWP (IS 710) is 100% phenolic and boiling-waterproof for constant water. IS 710 vs IS 303 explained →
What thickness, sizes and minimum order?
6–25 mm at 1220 × 2440 mm and custom cut-to-size, by the container load (FCL), FOB Cochin Port with documentation ready at dispatch.
Do you supply BWR plywood with Okoume or Gurjan face?
Both face veneers are available on our IS 303 BWR-bonded plywood. Okoume face suits kitchens, wardrobes and interior joinery where a paler, smoother finish takes laminate, paint or veneer cleanly. Gurjan/keruing face has more grain character and is the harder-wearing option for partitions, semi-humid carcass work and painted joinery where the finish is more forgiving. The BWR phenolic glue line is the same on both — the face is just the surface you see. Tell us the application and finish and we'll quote the right combination.
