Why our commercial ply

Furniture-grade means flat, gap-free and predictable.

Gap-free hardwood core

Full hardwood veneers with no overlaps or voids — so the panel holds screws and stays flat under a finish.

The grade you ordered

BWR is BWR and MR is MR — bonded to the standard, not relabelled down a grade between orders.

Container loads, FOB Cochin

Recurring supply to furniture clusters, joinery firms and dealers abroad — the same board each shipment.

A face-veneer option

Okoume face option.

Okoume is one of the face-veneer options we offer on our BWR and MR commercial plywood — particularly for export buyers who want a uniform, lightweight panel with a smooth pinkish-cream surface. The bonding grade is set by the order (IS 303 BWR/MR); the face is the cosmetic top sheet. Okoume runs lighter than gurjan or keruing — about 470–550 kg/m³ — which helps when you're container-loading by weight.

  • Lightweight: ~470–550 kg/m³ vs ~700–800 kg/m³ for hardwood-faced
  • Uniform surface: minimal grain figure, easy to lacquer or laminate
  • Calibrated option: E1 low-formaldehyde, ±0.15 mm thickness tolerance, on request
  • Available as the face on MR, BWR and BWP grades; bonding stays as ordered

Ask for “Okoume face” on your enquiry — we’ll quote the same product code with the face swap noted.

Questions buyers ask

Commercial plywood, answered.

What is the difference between BWR and MR plywood?

BWR (boiling-water-resistant) uses a fortified glue line for kitchens and humid areas; MR (moisture-resistant) is urea-formaldehyde bonded for dry interiors and furniture. Both are IS 303 commercial grades. IS 710 vs IS 303 explained →

Is commercial plywood waterproof?

No — for constant water you need IS 710 BWP marine plywood. BWR resists occasional wetting; MR handles humidity only.

What thickness and sizes do you supply?

4–25 mm at 1220 × 2440 mm and custom cut-to-size, in BWR and MR grades.

What is the minimum order?

By the container load (FCL), FOB Cochin Port, documentation ready at dispatch.

Can I get commercial plywood with an Okoume face for export packing?

Yes — Okoume face on commercial plywood is the export-packing standard, and most of our packing-case exporters order this combination. The Okoume face is light (lower air and sea freight), pale and smooth so stencilled markings and branding stay crisp, and handles cleanly at the unpacking end where damaged surfaces become claims. Gurjan/keruing face is the alternative when colour matters less and cost matters more — common on domestic packing and internal cases. The board body is the same IS 303 commercial plywood underneath; the face just changes the surface you see and the weight you ship.
